In Arkansas, dyed diesel fuel is subject to a state excise tax, which is a separate from the tax on clear diesel fuel. Dyed diesel fuel is typically used for off-road purposes, such as in farm equipment or construction vehicles, and is colored red to distinguish it from clear diesel fuel. If you use dyed diesel fuel in Arkansas you are required to pay the state excise tax on the fuel.
